Chordeleg is a small town about one hour from Cuenca, Ecuador often combined with Gualaceo for day trips. It is known for the many jewelry stores that line the streets and main square: there must be at least 20 of them or more. The jewelry – particularly the silver – is made locally and there is an impressive selection of pendants, bracelets, earrings, etc. There is also a stunning church in the main square and it oozes of tranquility.
