Last month when I was in Siem Reap, Cambodia, I was invited to stay at the beautiful Tresor D’ Angkor Suites which was an incredible experience. Let’s start with the serenity and tranquility of the sunsets at the end of the day, poolside.
Located on the green outskirts of Siem Reap, Tresor D’ Angkor Suites is only eight kilometers from Angkor Wat and the Siem Reap International Airport, a ten minute drive to city centre, old market and Pub Street by remork (motor-trailer). In other words, it’s conveniently located to all the best attractions.
This tropical resort offers nine whitewashed villas surrounding a large fresh water pool. Traditional Khmer style blends seamlessly with contemporary elements of modern architecture and interior design in all of their 18 rooms.
After a fun tuk-tuk ride, I was absolutely stunned when I arrived at the property. My friends and I were personally greeted by the social media manager and the hotel staff were incredibly kind and personable. The grounds were very pristine and the architecture gave off a modern vibe. The onsite manager told me that the building were newly constructed, which would explain why they were so striking.
The rooms were amazing as well, featuring an expansive bathroom, king size bed and elegant furnishings. The shower head was absolutely divine (definitely the best showers I had during my time in Asia) and the bathroom also possessed the only bathtub I had seen for months.
The bed was almost too comfortable and my friends had to jostle me awake for a few of our early morning Angkor Wat days. Each room also has a sophisticated temperature control unit which was much appreciated during those hot Cambodian days.
But the nicest feature of the hotel in my opinion are the facilities available for use. This includes the pool, the sauna (so so lovely), the spa and the overall hotel grounds. Everything was really well kept and functional. Since we were a good distance away from all the tourist ‘action’, at night, the scene was peaceful and quiet; a stark contrast to my experience in downtown Siem Reap.
On our final day at Tresor D’ Angkor, we were invited to a lunch organized at the onsite restaurant. There, we met with a few other travel writers who were also staying there and were served some tasty local dishes including Amok and Mango Puree. Great conversation was had and connections were made. And, the food was scrumptious.
Overall, I would highly recommend Tresor D’ Angkor Suites to anybody looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Siem Reap and the Pub Street craze. My sincerest thanks go out to the staff and managers for the opportunity to be hosted and write about my experience. For more information, visit their site.
