From the same people who brought us L’Garage, a somewhat quirky and always good waterside restaurant in Sausalito, comes L’Appart, opened almost a month now at 636 San Anselmo Avenue.
Like L’Garage, there is no doubt that this is a French restaurant. You will hear staff speaking to each other in French. You will see French food on the menu. You will have a lot of butter in your food.
And it will be delicious.
On my first visit, I had a soup – or actually a veloute – of organic nettle and an appetizer of smoked fresh herring. The menu changes frequently, and it incorporates a full range of vegetables, meats and seafood.
Starters cost about $7-$15. Entrees run $19-$32.
L’Appart is open for lunch Monday-Friday, brunch Saturday and Sunday, and dinner Monday-Saturday. For more information, http://www.lappartresto.com.
