Whistler is gearing up to host the Canadian debut of Wanderlust – a four-day festival featuring the world’s top yogis, guest speakers and an impressive musical lineup.
From early-morning meditations to late-night dancing under the stars, the schedule for Wanderlust Whistler features everything from a variety of yoga workshops, concerts and DJs to culinary delights.
Founder of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, Baron Baptiste, yoga innovator Sianna Sherman, internationally acclaimed Seane Corn, San Francisco’s “global yoga warrior” Janet Stone and Vancouver’s own yogi and self-proclaimed “blissologist” Eoin Finn lead the impressive lineup of dozens of renowned instructors participating in Wanderlust Whistler.
Musically, Michael Franti & Spearhead will perform for free August 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Other free concerts throughout the festival include Youssoupha Sidibe, Krishna Das, Rebirth Brass Band and Sean Corn. In addition, guests can enjoy the sounds of a number of international DJs including DJ Drez, DJ Rabs and DJ Urn. Ticketed concerts include Quixotic & Thievery Corporation DJ set at the Whistler Conference Centre August 24 and 25.
In addition to the array of yoga workshops, the festival will feature the Speakeasy Lecture Series with topics such as meditation, nutrition, technology, music, organics, spirituality, yoga and more, each presented in a casual conversational format by prominent subject experts. Wanderlust is a fixture on the festivals circuit in Vermont, Colorado and California and makes its Canadian debut in Whistler August 23-26.
Additionally, Whistler Presents: Celestial Cinema brought to you by the Whistler Film Festival offers free outdoor film screenings at Whistler Olympic Plaza with Marley (August 22) and Score: A Hockey Musical (August 29). Both movies begin shortly after 8 p.m.
