Paying Respect to America’s Memorial Day

Comments Off on Paying Respect to America’s Memorial Day

In honor of Memorial Day, We Blog the World pays respect to those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. I’ve had several uncles and cousins over the years who served, including World War I, II, Korea, and Vietnam. A couple lost their lives, my Uncle Ed, no longer living, lost his eyesight and others came home with disabilities.  While I don’t think about those dark times from my 1970s childhood as much anymore, it’s a reality. It was a time where men drank more than they worked, and sunk into depressed states or rages from the after math of dealing with the trauma of war.  A tribute on this day to those who served at the risk of their lives in honor of American patriotism and nationalism.
