There is a call for participaton for the upcoming Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing event this fall, from October 17-20, 2007 in Orlando Florida.

The deadline for submissions is the end of the month. The Grace Hopper Celebration is a technical conference featuring well-known keynote speakers and invited technical speakers, panels, workshops, new investigator technical papers, PhD forums, technical posters, birds of a feather sessions (BOFs), the ACM Student Research Competition and awards celebrations.

This year’s theme, “I Invent the Future”, recognizes and celebrates the significant role women have in the creation, use and leadership of computing and technology.

Submissions on both technical and professional topics are encouraged. The Grace Hopper Program committee is requesting submissions that reflect the conference theme “I Invent the Future” in the areas of innovation within a company, academia, or individual contribution through social and environmental entrepreneurship. The GHC Committee encourages technical submissions that cross disciplines and other boundaries.

Maria Klawe, President, Harvey Mudd College

General Chair – Lucy Sanders, National Center for Women & Information Technology
Program Chair – Anne Condon, University of British Columbia
